Tanzanite – December’s Birthstone

One of December’s official gemstones, the Tanzanite, was first discovered in Tanzania, 1967. The gemstone industry celebrated the discovery of this stone, resulting in it rapidly becoming one of the most sought-after gemstones in the world.

There are Tanzanite mines in Tanzania, East Africa. This is the only mine in the world! Tanzanite crystals form in rare conditions. As a result, the chances of finding Tanzanite in another part of the world are low. However, as the supply of this gemstone is limited, Tanzanite is seen as an heirloom or investment.
